Abstract

The aim of the study is to increase the resistance of polystyrene concrete obtained from recycled polystyrene to dynamic shock loads. The issues of resistance of polystyrene concrete to compression forces with increasing load are considered. It was found that in terms of impact resistance, polystyrene concrete can be classified as a viscous material capable of absorbing high energy of shock loads. It has been determined that when Na2SO4 is introduced as a hardening accelerator, polystyrene concrete samples can absorb an impact energy of more than 178.5 J.
