Abstract

RPF-fuel granules consisted of paper and plastic wastes in various ratios, and activated carbons based on RPF were obtained. The optimal conditions of steam activation in the nitrogen atmosphere are revealed. Physically activated samples are mesoporous and can be used for adsorption from solutions (SBET = 521 m2/g). The calcium, silicon, aluminum, titanium oxides and aluminasilicate compounds formed during the activation process are insoluble in water. Depending on the temperature and method of activation, the content of inorganic elements varies from 5 to 45% mass.
