Abstract
The aim of the research is to develop lead-free optical glass with increased refractive index based on BaO – B2O3 – SiO2 system. A study of technological and physical-chemical properties of glass was conducted. It has been shown that the glass of this system tends to the phase separation of segregation type. The area of glass composition with refractive index of 1.6195 – 1.6650 has been established. The peculiarities of influence of the modifiers – Al2O3 and oxides of the RO group – on the technological and optical properties of the glass of examined system have been established. Lead-free optical glass with the refractive index of 1.6620 has been developed, which is dense crown glass.
