Abstract
The synthesis of benzamide coordination compounds of magnesium nicotinate by a mechanochemical method was carried out. The optimal component ratios and the time of the reactions were established. The composition of the synthesized compounds is established by the method of elemental analysis. A comparison of the interplanar distances and the relative intensities of magnesium nicotinate, formamide molecules, acetamide, benzamide, and the synthesized complexes shows that the new coordination compounds differ from each other, as well as from the initial components. Therefore, the compounds have an individual crystal lattice. The method of coordination of amide molecules, the environment of the central ion has been proved by IR spectroscopy. The molecules of formamide, acetamide and benzamide are coordinated with the central atom through an oxygen atom, the nicotinate fragment binds to the central atom bidentate. The thermal behavior of benzamide coordination compounds was investigated by derivatographic analysis. It was established that the step decomposition of the synthesized compounds with several endo - and exoeffects corresponding to the decomposition of the constituent parts of the complexes.
