Abstract

An increase in the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is one of the main factors in the greenhouse effect. At present, the development of methods for obtaining solid sorbents for carbon dioxide sorption, along with studies to reduce the amount of gases emitted into the atmosphere, is one of the important area of research. The ability of sorbents containing nitrogen to absorb carbon dioxide is relatively high. In this work, the preparation and properties of silica gel modified with a melamine-formaldehyde polymer were studied. As a result, it was found that its sorption of carbon dioxide is higher than the sorption properties of silica gel. It has been studied how the properties of the sorbent surface change during the modification process. The advantage of this study is that the process of sorption-desorption on the obtained sorbent can be carried out with simple technologies and low energy consumption. The duration of the working cycles of the sorbent was determined.
