Abstract

The aim of the study was to conduct research to determine the possibility of predicting the approximate fatty acid composition of blends based on the iodine number. The fatty acid composition was determined by the chromatographic method and the results were subsequently used to identify the composition of blends by determining the iodine number. The iodine number was determined by calculation and titrimetric methods, comparing the differences between the obtained values. The detected deviations in values between the two methods do not exceed 0.4%, which means that it is possible to predict the approximate fatty acid composition of blends based on the iodine number.
